Today I was chopping back the brambles behind GH No 3, between the GH and next door's house wall. Needless to say the dogs came to help. Ted was snuffling around behind the bushes, then I heard crunching noisestt and smelt something obnoxious. Was it a dead bird or rat or what? Ted wouldn't stop eating it, whatever it was.
Then Bess arrived and nosed her way in but instead of crunching, she carried something out in her mouth.
Hastily, I ran round to the kitchen door to make sure she couldn't take it into the house but she lay down outside and put her "trophy" on the mat. Then she ate it!! Fortunately, it didn't have the rotten smell of whatever Ted had eaten.
Any ideas what it might have been? Eggs?

Spot on, SC!! Must have been one of the chook's secret nests. I'm very pleased to say that eating rotten eggs hasn't put Ted or Bess off their breakfast!
Tight lines, Vinny!
Straight walls, SC!
I'm awaiting delivery of a raffle prize at 10am. No idea what it will be but its something donated by a local person in aid of a Cancer Charity. There were lots of prizes, mostly gift sets, hampers, handmade cushions. The most worrying thing is that they're taking photos of the prize-winners and all the ones I've seen so far have been of elegantly dressed, hair-styled ladies (and one man) - so I've put on a clean pair of jeans, a daft T shirt and combed my hair .

Sounds a reasonable raffle prize Veggie, all sorts of useful things there. Drinking the vodka from the bottle through a leopard print mask conjures up an image

Shame I don't like Vodka but I'm sure I'll find someone who'll drink it!!
The Estee Lauder "Beautiful" Body Lotion costs about £30 and the small squirt I tried reminded me of those department stores where you run the gamut of made-up ladies whose only role in life is to spray you with summat overwhelmingly smelly and costing an arm and a leg if you express any interest in it.
The leopard print face mask is nicer than it sounds - it'll be my favourite

Why does this remind me of Bruce Forsyth...Cuddly toy, cuddly toy?
Weather held today at Kielder and I'm pleased to say the 'Auld man' showed these younguns how to gan on with the fishing! Youngest son caught a fish on his first cast 20 seconds past six in the morning and never had another bite all day poor bugger!
Luckily its Tuna Tuesday for my OMAD tomorrow but it will have to be trout Tuesday this week!
Kato was a good lad and even slept on a sand bar for part of the day. An hour and a half in the car each way didn't seem to trouble him either but the fresh air has tired him out! I am thinking of buying a campervan for me and him but wasn't sure how he would travel over a distance. Today has eased my mind a bit.
One of the places I have never visited is Wales which will be first port of call for an extended campervan excursion if I do buy one

Sounds like a good day out for all of you, Vinny.
I definitely recommend coming to Wales (but I am slightly biased .
As for the Cuddly toy, I was offered one yesterday - a big Turkey, quite cute, but I thought the dogs would pull it apart if I brought it home!!
