I've no idea, not very adept at using chillies in the kitchen.  I'll start off easy and do a Chinese stir fry I expect, but will have to buy some bits.  How long can I leave it on the plant, are they prone to rot?

They can stay on the plant for a good few weeks. They stay in pretty good condition just sat in your fruit bowl for a couple of weeks as well.

Yes, it's razzamatazz,  from this spring's seed swap.  Didn't have the donor's name but the seeds were in a small grip  seal plastic bag with a printed label.  Looking online some razzamatazz seeds purport to have multicoloured fruit, but my little fellow is red and all his mates are green, although one or two have darkish blotches in their skin colour.

I've potted on jalapeno and cayenne this morning.  Not sure what I'm going to do with the chillies if they fruit though

Nah he'll be outdoors in a pot. Last year none of the flowers set fruit when the plant was in the greenhouse, it seems to prefer lower temperatures than other chillies.

Not wanting to boast but..... I'm going to anyway
I have a 4" green cayenne, several jalapeño fruits and a sweet pepper or two in the gh all looking a bit worse for wear because of the temperatures and the greenfly I'm battling though.
I'm not convinced I'll be bothering with chillies again next year though, except razzamatazz, hopefully my freezer will have enough in store to last me years
