Weeded and mulched the central bed in the front garden. Now you can more-or-less tell what's flower bed and what's (weedy) lawn Smile

Also tidied the back garden, as there were loads of odds and ends lying around after winter: compost bags, empty plant pots, broken canes, plant labels, bits of leftover guttering from the shed and conservatory. It still looks a bit like a building site (especially with the builder's bag in the middle of the future lawn), but another run to the tip will see the back of the remaining junk, and by the end of the month it should be starting to look pretty civilised!
How much veg and wildlife can I pack into a 6m x 8m garden in suburban Cambridge? Let’s find out!  Smile

Replaced two bed edgings and added more bark to the paths.

Sowed a batch of cabbage and broccoli seeds.

Potted on some more chitted broad beans. Planted out the overwintered b beans into the patch as they were getting too big. I wonder whether the chitted ones will catch up their overwintered brothers. Time will tell.

Hiya Jen

I overwintered some for last year and when I planted them out I also sowed some direct, I didn't see any difference.

So this year I said I would only sow direct and here I am with 50 odd sitting in toilet rolls in the back yard!! SmileSmile

Filled some pots and brought them into the warm ready for pricking out aubergines this afternoon.

Popped over to friends who are setting up a food truck for a trial run lunch and just made it home five minutes before the 6pm curfew Big Grin Cry

Pricked out delphiniums. Rearranged and improved the chilli grow supports. Tidied a bit more of the chilli tunnel. Planted a side shoot from a red hot poker.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.
