Do aubergines tolerate planting deep if they get leggy, like tomatoes do?

I've never found them to get leggy, they are more shrublike and can become pretty big, woody and solid!
I've never planted them deep so I'm not sure, but I have earthed them up when the voles have been eating the roots and they've put out new higher roots, so I guess that's much the same.

My one seedling has stretched while in the airing cupboard waiting for it friend to join him. I was thinking of transplanting him and putting his brother in the warm again. I'll give it a go and plant him deep. Thanks PP

The Turkish Orange started to germinate today, as usual the first to appear (sown 14/1/21), but it looks like there may be an Italian Long Purple trying to come through as well.

Last year's mixed plants were pretty but I didn't eat any!!
Are you sure you still have those seeds? I've just put some in the propagator!

I also love aubergine. Tried a few times and never had any luck - but I'm going to give it another go.

I have one single Black Beauty and one single Long Purple under the lights, looking ok but very baby. I sowed some Viserba 3 (freebie seeds) which haven't popped yet. I would like to grow some different coloured ones but haven't got the seeds nor the space, maybe next year.

My Kermit haven’t germinated yet. But it’s only been 6 days. They will appear when they’re ready.

You're fine - I have 4 more packets. Smile
I bought several of the Chiltern Bargain basement Veg seed collections last year and Kermit was in all of them! They either had loads or nobody fancied growing a frog!
