I spotted that chrysanths were mentioned. My chrysanths are just at there best just now. Cool I am getting a regular supply of cut flowers for the home. I noticed Morries were selling off chrysanth for 20p each. Its doubtful they would flower for this year now but I wish I had bought some now for flowering next year. Rolleyes

Just don’t have room for chrysanthemums - my little patch is full up with summer stuff, and I don’t get any space till I rip it all out.
And, of course, I don’t rip it out till I’m absolutely convinced that it’s finished!
(By which time it’s too late to think about autumn flowering things).
I do like chrysanthemums though, and there are some smashers around.
I’d have to follow you and rip up the lawn if I wanted to grow them. And you thought you were too old to do that at 54!
Add on another sixteen years to that, and you see my problem!

Wish I had spotted some - I have grown a few over the years - some beauties for GH flowering over xmas and some for Autumn flowering....but I love the dahlias a little bit more. Maybe i will find some energy to dig a few more borders.

Well I managed to pick enough to put on my stall and cover my costs.

Not bad for late October (if I say so myself!!)

And here we have a wet and bedraggled stall holder all packed up and waiting to go home!
I made the local news!!!
To be more exact, I featured in the background as they interviewed my fellow stall holders!

Few - is it not windy there? Do your jars always stay standing?

The geranium is Frank Headley and of course, with all “specials”, it’s a bugger to propagate.
Yes it is very windy. - customers are roped in for all hands on deck when the gusts come!

Some truly beautiful flowers, as you say exceptional for the time of year. Good to put a face to FEW.
