My motohome has two solar panels which charge an onboard battey for my lighting and running 12v electics, but to supply 240v when not on hook-up I would need to add an inverter.
The other thing is that even if the sun isn't shining the panels will still charge to a certain degree won't they? I was born much too early for all this technology! Big Grin
Most house systems produce 48v DC which is then converted to 240v AC by the inverter.
Most house batteries like the one we're getting are about 48v dc but some manufacturers stubbornly stick to 400v dc
