Put up some more bird feeders - one of niger seed, as we have little flocks of goldfinches hereabouts, and a suet ball feeder - and emptied out and refilled the other feeders. The blue tits have finally discovered the fancy bird bath I installed several weeks ago, and there are long-tailed tits visiting the fat-filled coconut shell. I'm just hoping the local squirrels don't gnaw through the plastic grille on the niger feeder to get to the seeds!
Also helped the OH move two dozen bags of Dalefoot compost round to the back garden, after a pallet delivery this morning. We don't have a wheelbarrow, but luckily he has a porter-type trolley from work (used for book boxes), which made the job a lot easier. Hoping for good things, as this stuff gets glowing reviews.
