Had an annual check up at Docs this morning (Waste of time as they couldn't get blood from either arm) You can't get blood from a stone, I hear you say!
Anyway............the Docs is close to the allotment so I thought I may as well call in and see how crops are doing. Still no sign of the broad beans but the Elephant garlic has finally decided to show itself above ground.
I got my bill fom the Council this week fo the plot which goes from Nov 1st to Oct 31st each year now (no idea why? it ued to be April to April! I asume this means my allotment compatriot who offered me their greenhouse because they are giving up the plot, are now finished with site?
I told them I didn't want the greenhouse which is the same as mine, but mine is missing quite a bit of glass, so they agreed I could have it, along with a rotary compost maker which I took when they were threre clearing up.
It wasn't raining today for a change so I thought I would go and pillage the glass. I took three panes out the back, one from the roof and because I needed all three panes in my door, I just took the door by bending back the retaining tab that holds it. Once I fit their door to mine I'll put my glassless door back on the pillaged geenhouse.
I know where they live so I may call in to let them know I've taken glass and ask if I can have the water butts and two othe compost bins (you cant have enough compost bins!)
