Talking of strange berries, as you all must all do on a regular basis,
in one of my fruit cages within a row of raspberries, I have a random very prickly berry plant. It has several fruits which are currently changing colour to pink, so might go red or black eventually. The berries are elongated so I'm thinking loganberry type. I have no idea how it got there as no new plantings have happened in that spot for years, as far as I can remember. I'm fascinated to see what the fruit are like. Do raspberries mutate? There is a smaller thorny plant with no fruit nearby. I'm debating what to do with it and in reality it will probably be left to its own devices until it proves to be rubbish. They both could be the result of bird droppings.
