I did splash out and bought a large potted pink Alstromeria and a purple one (the only two colours they had)
It was very windy yesterday, as it is today, so after taking off the wrapping paper I put them into my greenhouse at the allotment. They are in 8 inch pots and were desperate for water so I gave them a good soak.
My greenhouse is a bit 'tumbledown' with panes of glass missing so I placed them on the bench under a broken pane. That way if it rains they will get watered but are a bit sheltred from the wind.
Long term I am not sure how I will grow them? Possibly in large pots either indoors or outdoors or even planted outdoors at home or allotment? I need to knock them out of their pots to check the root system and see if they need re-potting soon, or whether they are ok for the time being?
