There's a limited choice of meat items - depends on what they have been given. The £5 seems to "buy" you one meat and one veggie main item but, if you don't want meat you can have 2 veggie things.
With fruit and veg its more of a "do you want this or not". I refused celery, spring onions and cucumber. I chose tinned soup instead of coffee pods, handwash and washing up liquid instead of toothpaste, soap or lady items . Bread you choose from whatever they have, same with cake if there's a lot, otherwise you have what you're given - like marshmallows, gingerbread, no choice with crisps but I had 8 bags.
I've never walked out with nothing. Its about 5 miles from home so I try to make my journey worthwhile by combining it with other errands. Next week, I'm going for my Covid jab after Pantry.
