It would be hopeless for storing coffee. The head bit is a really tight fit on the body - there's no rubber seal, just a grating of earthenware on earthenware. I expect a charity shop will be the lucky recipient.

How right you are Scarlet. You're just like my pal, she loves a charity shop and trawls the knick knacks, she spots a bargain at 50 paces, whereas I, on the other hand can't see one if it bites me on the bum, but I do love the books
