Went to the Other Church this morning - they seemed a bit short on food too - although I was late. Picked up some bread, potatoes, tangerines, coleslaw, double cream, prawn thingies and a bunch of thyme.
Afterwards, I collected some oatcakes, crispbread, porridge oats, tinned soup, rice and a bag of chocolate raisins.
The lady I collected these from has a hip problem and has difficulty gardening. I've met her before and we talk plants. She said that she'd have to get somebody in to dig up a plant in the corner so, naturally, I offered to do it for her - it was a big Sedum. Having dug it up and levelled the soil I asked her what she was going to grow there. Next thing, she's staggering across the garden with a Pieris in a pot! So I unlevelled the soil and planted the Pieris. Now, I have to plant the Sedum in my garden.
OUT today went the old chicken playhouse to be played in by chickens in another garden. Also some dishwater salt, cleaning tablets and BBQ cleaner - none of which I will use. With the playhouse gone, I gain another bit of ground to grow things in - not Sedum though.

The Moneyless Chicken says:-
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
