Basket Making

It’s something I’ve wanted to try over the last few years. 

I've wanted to try it for years- love all crafts. Last summer I looked in to ordering willow for winter wreaths and never bothered....
this guy is about 6 miles from me and said I was welcome to pop in at anytime.

He did a year as an apprentice in 1985 - noone was interested- he said now, especially after covid and the lack of plastic bags that people are looking at more sustainable options and things are changing. He would have never made a living out of it to support a family etc - but the kids have flown and he is taking early retirement to enjoy the good things.

I am going to try making hoops out of bramble - the thick stuff.
