On the 8th December there was a Full moon, known as the Cold Moon/the Long Nights Moon/the Moon before Yule. Tonight's moon is 63.6% of its size and is a Waning Gibbous Moon. (Don't ask, I don't understand that yet).

I like all that info Veggie, I've always thought of a gibbous moon as being a pregnant one and the crescent moon as having had the baby . For me the phrase 'gibbous moon' invokes dark misty nights when witches are abroad....?on their hols, perhaps
