I bought the Maria Thun Biodynamic Calendar 2023 intending to give this a try next year but I'm totally flummoxed by it. I can't get my head around the system at all.
In my simple way I thought I could bend my Roots, Shoots, Fruits and Leaves to their Roots, Fruits, Leaves and Flowers planting dates.
You think my RSFL plan is complicated, but its easy peasy compared to Moon gardening. I can't find any pattern to it at all.
Unless somebody comes along with a simplified version that my simple mind can understand, I'm sorry to say that I'm giving up on it.

Anybody tried it who can help a confused Veggie please?
Your RSFL plan works on a system of a seven day rotation (I think?), my understanding of Moon gardening is that it works on a two and a half day (approximately) system, because the moon only stays in each star sign for that length of time. Then all the other tips and wrinkles get added in - is the moon waxing or waning, what planetary conjunctions are happening etc. I don't think you need to understand it all, just follow the recommended times that are convenient to you.

My grandfather always used Old Moores Almanac for all his planting and sowing. Whether it made a difference I don't know.
From what I remember it was mainly all to do with the gravitational pull on water of the moon phases? Too omplicated for me to master. Cry
Just to simplify it, plant roots and things that grow underground on a waining moon and things that grow above ground on a waxing moon.
Thank you, Roitelet, I can understand that. Big Grin
Found this website which seems to be easier to understand that the book I wasted money on. Wink

The order is Roots, Flowers, Leaves, Fruits.
Flowers are veg like caulis, broccoli.
There are roughly 3 days for each group.
It sounds an awful faff to me Veggie, I fear I'll not be joining in with this one.
I never thought you would JJB. Big Grin
