My happy today was having a Paul around the house (it sounded too rude to say 'having a P around the house ) Yesterday he replaced the spring in my favourite Fiskars fingerloop snips, even though there are no spares available he found an old spring in the workshop and has ordered a brand new one to the right dimensions to do the job properly. Without the repair they would been throwaway and I 2ould have been very miffed
Today I was revamping the strawberry 'planter' on the patio aiming to just replace the top couple of inches of soil and old strawbs with rooted runners. It's not really a planter but rather a cut down version of a dumpy bag made of similar material which was bulging out the sides. I had thought to dig round the sides and offer some sort of support, not sure what with though. P, bless him, stopped what he was doing (hedge cutting up a ladder) and got the kit out to cut some scaffold planks to size to put inside the woven plastic mesh planter to support the sides. All hail P , my hero. Now I've got to put it all back and tidy up
