Those of you who guessed it was Lettuce are correct. 
They're not just bolted lettuce - they are next winter's salad!
In April they looked like this
and they grew from seed produced the year before - from a living salad pack from L1dl.
I leave them to self seed in the GH. No work and no cost. What more could you want?
