Having soil in my main greenhouse that must be quite diseased, my main focus is getting a good crop. This year I'm going to try grafting using Roma VF as the rootstock. I've still got some submarine seeds left so will do some on those as well. I'm not going to be very adventurous and grow:
Alicante as my main variety for cooking and bottling. The skins come off easily, it has plenty of juice and has very little greenback.
Gardeners delight gives heavy crop of what I consider very tasty tomatoes
Orange Banana crops well and goes to a paste on cooking that helps thicken dishes well.
Galina I like the lemony smell of the ripe fruit on the plant and they keep for a long time. Just have to keep off the ground away from any mice.
I tried Black Russian last year but wasn't particularly impressed. I should probably grow a beefsteak as well.
