makes me wonder what do you do if you runn out of charge? with a normal fuel driven car you can get a can of petrol or diesel, but you can't get a can of electricity

Rather boringly the answer is a so called "portable charging system" otherwise known as a big rechargeable battery about the size of a briefcase you can put in the boot. They reckon they can give you about 75miles of charge in case you run out.
