Evening first I'll say congrats to Vinny and family xx that's a fair few birthdays to remember.
Jay grandkids are great mostly you just get the fun bits of being around them. Every school we took ours camping had fun playing on the beach, showing them how to fly a kite and to manage without electricity they soon enjoyed broad games.

Sssshhh, everyone. Jay may be asleep now..............or maybe not!!
I was at my Mum's today and the film "How Green was my Valley" was on TV. I've read the book several times and, if you don't know its about a Welsh coal mining village, with miners strikes, pit disasters etc.
The film was so funny though! It was made in 1941, in black and white. Because it was wartime they couldn't make the film in Wales so they built a mock Welsh mining village in California. It was unlike any mining village I've ever seen with twee little cottages set on a very steep street that climbed the mountain until it reached the coalmine - at the top of the mountain!! All the pits I've seen have been in the valley bottom, makes it easier to reach the coal seams that way!!
There was just one Welsh actor in the cast, the rest of them had the strangest pretend Welsh accents!
The final straw was when the little lad, Huw, went to the sweet shop and was served by a lady in a tall Welsh hat!! If this was how the Americans imagined Wales, they must be very disappointed when they visit.
I didn't see all the film, but its on Youtube so, one night when I want a good laugh, guess what I'll be watching.
Hope you're all well and had a good day.

Morning, yet another night of, this time, broken sleep. Had a long lie this morning to make up for it!
Well decided to update my phone last night to the newest software, halfway through I get an unknown error message then told I have to restore my phone to factory settings. Have lost all my photos as I don’t think it backed them up before it started the update. Devastated.
We rely far too much on our phones. Lesson learned!!
Anyhoo, hope you have a lovely day...still waiting for the sun to show face here this morning. x

Jay, if you have an Andr*id phone and Go*gle account, it may have been automatically saving your photos. My phone started saving mine without my especially asking it to.
Edited to add: I think some apps exist to try to salvage info from "wiped" phones, too.

Spent a pleasant afternoon fishing, enjoying the peace and quiet on the moors, only punctuated by the bird song.
And now and again, my Son and I actually caught a fish!
Trout for supper, what more can you ask.

What a day! Flu jab for me a.m.
Got home and had to take Paul to A&E. He got up this morning and was staggering around losing his balance as if drunk. Suspect TIA. Stroke clinic tomorrow. Although he's a lot better this evening.

Morning all , sorry to hear about Paul JJB, sending virtual hugs to you both!! ((x))
This sound a bit feeble considering JJB’s news but , I haven’t been on for a while. Updated my phone to new iOS 14 software and it wiped everything off my phone!! Contacts, messages and precious photos. My son took it to the A**le store where they got it working again but everything was lost...then he says it’s a known problem!!! Then why the heck are you allowing people to download the thing! Angry was not the word to describe how I feel. So be warned when downloading this! Had run out of storage space on the cloud so no backups!!
Anyhoo, hope you are all well. I’m off for a catch up, see you later. x
