Most of my tatties are up and clamped, they store well but, they do have a different flavour to those that still growing, they don’t hold onto their sugars in the same way when clamped as if they are still growing so don’t taste quite the same IMHO.

My father is always proud as punch if all the veg comes from the garden for that dinner. Well most dinners to be fair but he would always comment on that particular day.

I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
