I'm like you, very traditional, pancakes on pancake day aren't proper unless they're covered in sugar and lemon.
American thick pancakes I usually cover in maple syrup. We don't have those often. P has his eternal custard with his, yuk.
We have been known to have crepes suzette - pancakes with a boozy, buttery, orange sauce, which I highly recommend.

No, Bob, no! Adding raisins where other things would be better is a running theme in our house. I'm not the pro-raisin contingent, as you might guess.
We'll have lemon and sugar, cream and fruit, sweet spreads and cream...a mix of traditional and made-up combinations. We have American pancakes (I am that contingent) pretty frequently, so thin pancakes as they're known in our house are a special treat.

I probably won't have pancakes but if I did it would be the traditional sugar and lemon added. My missus used to like tomato sauce on hers!

I love pancakes, and if I could only pick one way to have them, it would certainly be with whipped cream and fresh strawberries

When I fancy pancakes but can't be bothered to stand and fry them all, I do a Swedish oven pancake, which is normal pancake batter poured over pancetta pieces that have been well fried off, and then bunged in the oven. Served with lingonberry jam. Yum. Or mums, as we say here.

Happy pancake Tuesday!
I don't use flour or seed oils so had to experiment making a carnivore pancake as all the carnivore pancake recipes I found online needed ingredients I don't have in my pantry!
I beat three eggs up until my arm was sore, to this I added two large desert spoon fulls of full fat cottage cheese, about 1/4 of a cup of double cream and a couple of handfulls of pork panko. Whisked it all up into what lookd from memory to be a traditional pancake mix?
Put butter in small frying pan and heated until melted. Took pan off heat and added two desert spoonfulls of the mix and returned to heat. After one side was brown flipped pancake over and cooked other side until just brown. I was eating one pancake whilst the next one was cooking and got four pancakes from the mix.
First one I had with homemade blackcurrant jam, next one with traditional lemon and sugar and the other two I am having cold later with cold cooked lambs liver! ( I know you will all go yuck, but I enjoy it!)
Very tasty and filling, I like to keep the old traditions alive albeit in a way that suits me!

^^ Sounds like an omelette to me!
I won't be bothering to make pancakes, I'm still celebrating Chinese New Year.
