Christmas Dinner?

We are round to the neighbours again this year. For an early evening Christmas dinner. Which apparently will be roast chicken & roast ham with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings. Followed by I think chocolate orange cheesecake and or Christmas pudding.

I bought some frozen Yorkshaire pudding a while ago but after searching two chocca block full freezers can't find them and I am not prepared to start turfing stuff out to look for them, so NO Yorkies tomorrow.

For me, it will be the same as any other day. Whatever is Free, cheap or lurking in the freezer.

PS I'm a Freegan.

Same agaiin this year.   Why break the habit of a lifetime!

We had a family get-together (10 of us) last weekend and had roast chicken, potatoes and parsnips with mashed potatoes, carrots and leeks also peas with gravy and stuffing. Also pork steaks with onions, carrots and apples in cider. All veg home grown.

Tomorrow going to daughters in Manchester for dinner. Not sure what it will be except the mince pies, olive bread and parsnips will be mine. Taking 2 seats with us as 12 people going and not sure of the seating (her husband has told his mum to get there early to be sure of somewhere to sit.

We’re having a tray of roasted 5 pence veg along with a nut roast and Yorkshire puds.
Homemade Carrot cake for afters.

Just the two of us.

If I had my choice I'd have roast lamb, but P likes tradition so I bow to turkey crown, pigs in blankets, several stuffings (I like stuffing), brussels, vichy carrots, roast parsnips and potatoes. Maybe yorkshires but there's not much room for them on the plate for them, gravy. Christmas pud and mince pies for afters. Tea, if we have room, will be asparagus rolls and smoked salmon or turkey open sandwiches and fruit salad.
