It’s been a good day for wildlife. I’ve seen 4 slow worms today. Got a couple of good photos of one of them.
Also seen a carabus granulatus

very handsome chap.
These two bees are from tunnel rescues last Friday & Saturday
The grasshopper warbler is back again this year. So been listening to him sing a lot today.

Humming bird hawkmoth.
Equally as impressive as a white tailed eagle. Well, I think so .

This morning I found a small brown bug walking around on the dogs pillow. My first thought was Jesus Christ you’re scary and need to die. I stopped myself. I took a photo of it and looked it up. Very pleased the little thing didn’t die just because it looked scary. It’s a lacewing larvae. So I collected it in a little pot and took it to the polytunnel. Let him loose on an aubergine leaf that had some aphids. Then I watched in awe of nature at work.

.
It was truly fascinating to watch. The speed it attacked and the violence. It shook the aphid like a dog does with a toy. Just amazing to witness.
