Is anyone growing pumpkins or tromboncino this year?

I’ve got a tromboncino doing nicely in the tunnels.

Not growing a pumpkin this year.

I've got some tromba seedlings in pots, not planted out yet - can't decide where to plant them.
No giant pumpkins though - despite have a couple of hundred seeds! I'm sticking with small is beautiful so lots of small small courgettes and squashes but nothing ginormous, unless you count the Jumbo Pink Squash. Big Grin

I agree, I’m not going to be (attempting)growing any giant pumpkins again. Lots of smaller ones is much more usable.

I have direct sown some of the 'bigguns' as I had an old packet of seed to get rid of. I think a couple have germinated along with all my other old packets of cucurbits I have sown.

I have a tromba out at the plot and a giant pumpkin seedling still at home in a pot. The giant is tiny and the rest of my seed didn't even sprout so we'll see. Also growing smaller varieties.

No pumpkins this year either, but I do have loads of trombas ready to plant out. If we're competing what are we aiming for? Sillyest (sp?), longest?, first? Quantity? Or shall we just enjoy growing them?

I've sown lots of tromba, as well as a huge variety of squashes, courgettes, pumpkins, patty pans.. you name it. None of them have germinated though. They're getting chucked outside tomorrow, hoping that it will warm them up a bit (it's cold inside the barn).
