Pulled out the outdoor sweet peppers, tomatoes and marigolds. Replaced them with some daffodils, forget-me-nots and wallflowers for spring.

We're due a frost tonight so I picked the last of the raspberries and picked trusses of unblighted unripe outdoor tomatoes.

Continued with the Massacre of the Montbretia. Chopped back a spiky Worcesterberry. Raked out more dead grass. Piled it alongside the bonfire heap, ready to use as kindling.

Filled 2 wheelie bins with brambles which will, hopefully, be collected tomorrow - the last garden waste collection of the year. ;(
Pruned the tomato plants in GH1 as they were looking a bit tired - lots of white fly on them, flying up in my face. Horrid things.

When shopping yesterday I forgot to pack the TV book at the self service checkout, even though I'd paid for it (numpty) so popped to the local shop to buy another one. Would you believe it, they don't sell magazines nor tv books and only a few papers. Nowhere else locally so took the bus into Salisbury. Lots of coppers and tv people about because of the Novichok poisoning inquiry. What a waste of a fine gardening morning just because I was a numpty. This afternoon pulled up veg stuff for composting, weeding as I went. Found a volunteer dwarf aster about to come into flower so potted it up and brought it indoors. P cut the grass.

Did some grass raking out and weeding this morning. Turned some piles of grass and weeds and moved them to another spot to smother another load of unwanted growth. Cut dead leaves off some CFBs, I'm leaving the beans that are left on the plants to dry for seed - even though I haven't a clue what they are.

Interesting story about my hairdryer,.................my boxing gloes were a bit 'sweaty' inside so I had the bright idea of drying them out with the hair dryer.! After stuffing hairdryer inside one of them I was pleased to see steam coming from it, great I thought, then the steam turned to smoke and the hairdryer stopped.
Boxing gloves are ruined but it was only the thermal cut out on the dryer and once I had allowed dryer to cool down it started working again!
I'm still very apprehensive about using the drier now.
