I've spent the grand sum of £4.45 inc p&p on some seeds from Mr. F's bargain basement 50p seeds. Marigolds (since many of mine failed at sowing time), sweetpeas, MT and a DFB.

I've acquired 2 biodegradable Seed Mats - one for Bees, t'other for Butterflies. https://www.bees-seeds.co.uk/SeedCarpets.html
They were FREE of course.
I've no idea where I'm going to find a 200x50cm weed free space for one, never mind two.

I succumbed (again) to T&Ms cheap seeds and free p&p. Just a few pkts under fiver in total. Then saw that I'd ordered some of the same pkts as when I succumbed last time! What a numpty. Maybe that'll teach me a lesson.
Never mind, can't have too many seeds

For feeding cats & chicken while friends were away. They brought me a baby bird of paradise tuber with one little leaf. . So I’ll be potting him up at some point today.

I used to have one before we moved to Mull. Unfortunately it was too big to bring with us. I was heartbroken. It was in a half whiskey barrel and had 7 flowers on it just before I re homed it.

My son germinated about 8 bird of paradise plants a few years ago (from a packet of T&M seeds so a fair few years ago). And when they were just getting big enough to flower, they were left outside when there was an early frost and all died except one which was a bit of a runt and always looked a bit untidy.
