What goodies have you bagged for your garden?

Today we picked up some pipe. each pipe is 5m (16ft ) long with a 30cm (just under a 1ft ) diameter.

A couple with be used for drainage. A couple will be turned into a big version of this.

[attachment=7304] With pipes cut completely in half. Not just a section taken out the top.
Wow!! That will be fantastic. Any scope for connecting them somehow for watering?
Not sure. I’m thinking setting up a drip watering system (as I have one). Don’t think they’ll dry out too much as they will be outside and they’ll hold a vast amount of compost. Think after cutting them, they’ll be over 1m long. T going to build them well off the ground and I’m going to wrap lots of copper around the legs to make the slug proof.
Another build to watch. Brilliant idea SC. What had they been used for?

I think the bottom of a floating platform that had come to the end of its life (according to the very wasteful company hierarchy that I’ll not mention). It’d been pulled out the water and was waiting to be taken to the dump. It was all fixed together when we went to pick it up. Bob cut it in half and the lovely man that offered it to us in the first place loaded the bits onto the trailer with a manitou.
Got a delivery of seeds from D.T. |Brownes yesterday including parsnip. I won't buy parsnip seed on line again as they often send out old seeds that likely won't germinate very well.
2 varieties one packed year ending May 23 which must be grown in 22 so at least a year old - and the other year ending May 22 so over 2 years old.
Acquired another 3 pallet collars yesterday. To use as raised bedding.
I bought a pkt of Orangeto tomato seeds, supposedly a sweet semi-bush orange cherry. I've acquired (free) a very large rather pretty plastic 'terracotta' pot which will live on the patio. I usually grow 3-4 patio toms in MFBs, none of which I've been particularly pleased with. This season I'm restricting numbers to perhaps 1 or 2 of which Orangeto will be one.
From Pennard Plants:

Tomatoes: Pink Honeymoon, Orangeto, Orange Paruche, Celano and Sparky XSL
Sweet Peppers: Bellrouge, Terrazzi, Popti and Balconi
Hot Pepper: Jalapeno Orizaba
Cucumber: Party Time
I've bought from B&M some Sturon and Stuttgarter onion sets and some Charlotte potatoes - 3 packs for £5.
