Pumpkin & tromba competitions 2024

I have had zero success with my previous attempts at trombas and giant pumpkins, so this year I'm focusing on small single serving pumpkins and winter squash, both bush and climbing types:

Potimarron, Sweet Dumpling & Thelma Sanders (vine);
Harlequin, Table King & Honey Bear F1 (bush).

I've grown them before and they won't be winning any competitions for weight or size!

They will win on flavour, Garrett  Cool .

I must admit I was surprised how tasty last year’s giant (quite large) was.

My one and only 'giant' pumpkin was stored in the garage on a top shelf away from my eyeline. I forgot all about it until I smelt a smell that I though was a decomposing mouse. I was wrong it was a very rotten mushy pumpkin. So growing that was a waste of time wasn't it.

I think so, mine isn't big enough to have a naming ceremony yet.

I'm happy tromba ing, pumpkin might be a different matter. If the pumpkin plant survives I'm sure I'll join in.
