A sunshiny day, at last, so I've been clearing inside the old chicken run as I intend to grow veg in there. There are a few hurdles to overcome but that's for another day.

Planted up a fish box with flowery things. Including sweet peas, cornflower, corncockle and other stuff I can’t remember now. Potted on vipers bugloss snow tower.

Did some more clearance near the chicken run. Filled a wheelie bin with brambles and ivy. Its our first garden waste collection of the year on Friday, in fact the first since October as the refuse collectors have been on strike! I have piles of ready cut brambles, waiting to be binned. Did have a bonfire a few weeks ago which got rid of a lot.

Weeded, the chickweed/bird's-eye whatever is galloping all over. Transplanted a raspberry from the wrong place to the right place. Contemplated getting the B beans planted out but the ground is sodden and clayey. Demonstrates the advantages of raised beds, of which I have none.

Did the laundry Hokey cokey! You peg the washing out, you bring the washing in, you peg it all back out and do it all again. The weather has been changeable but I did manage some pottering in between the showers. Bits of weeding, pruning.
Dug up and replanted some sort of brassica (? cauli or broccoli) which Spud decided to snap off and eat. He massacred one of the perennial kales a few days ago too. He does enjoy eating them so I can't be too cross. Just a little reminder to plant all brassicas somewhere off-limits to dogs in future.

I messed around at the end of the garden, clearing a space to plant the onion sets from their modules - then it rained so they went back in the GH.

Made some blinds for the polytunnel door vents. Started working on the layout of raised beds inside the tunnel. The carrot bed (bath) is back in its place. Also levelled it.
