The dog meat lady also gave me a cooked joint of beef from her freezer that she was going to throw out because she didn't know how long it had been frozen! My dogs don't look at dates.Wink
I combined these collections with a trip to the £5 x2 pantry. My £10 seems to go a lot further here than it does in the supermarket, plus there's a randomness about what they have which pleases me.
Today, potatoes, carrots, lots of broccoli, pak choi, tangerines, limes, a pomegranate, a mango, avocados,  2 mini pumpkins, vegan pseudo meat. a steak pie, sausage rolls, sausages, hummus, fruit smoothies, mozzarella, tiger loaf, biscuits, crisps, canned drinks, bags of marshmallows, 2 polar bear ginger bread "men", washing up liquid and handwash.  That gives you an idea of what will be on the menu this week.  Big Grin
OUT went some bubble wrap and packing noodle things.
Do you get to pick what you want at the £5.00 pantry and do you ever turn round and come out again if they haven't got stuff you need or fancy? Huh Apologies if I have asked you this before! Blush

There's a limited choice of meat items - depends on what they have been given. The £5 seems to "buy" you one meat and one veggie main item but, if you don't want meat you can have 2 veggie things.
With fruit and veg its more of a "do you want this or not". I refused celery, spring onions and cucumber. I chose tinned soup instead of coffee pods, handwash and washing up liquid instead of toothpaste, soap or lady items Wink. Bread you choose from whatever they have, same with cake if there's a lot, otherwise you have what you're given - like marshmallows, gingerbread, no choice with crisps but I had 8 bags.
I've never walked out with nothing. Its about 5 miles from home so I try to make my journey worthwhile by combining it with other errands. Next week, I'm going for my Covid jab after Pantry. Big Grin

IN today came 2 high backed dining chairs for the kitchen to replace the existing ones which have saggy bottoms Wink
We bought the old chairs in 1975 in St Ives, Cornwall where the inlaws lived at the time. They were pine with a woven ?rush seat. Sad to say, after 48 years, the seats have sagged and I've been sitting on 3 cushions so that my bottom doesn't sag into the hole. I'm not skilled enough to redo the seats so the chairs have been broken up as firewood and the seats have been dismantled and will be used as kindling. There was a scary amount of dust trapped in the seats!

In today came a 5.4m x 2.5m swimming pool cover! Its made from a heavy duty bubblewrap and is meant to keep the heat in your swimming pool and stop water evaporating.
Now we all know that I don't have a swimming pool but there must be an alternative use for this. At the moment I'm thinking of insulating a GH, covering a frame to make a polytunnel or laying it on the ground in spring to warm the soil before planting.

Alternative suggestions welcomed.Big Grin
I also went to the £5x 2 Pantry. Lots of veg - carrots, parsnips, sugarsnap peas, kale, spinach, avocado, mushrooms, blueberries, bread, custard doughnuts, mince pies, crisps, canned drinks, sweetcorn fritters, mixed bean meal, 5 litres of milk, sausage & mash, steak pie, cheese and onion pasty, tins of baked beans and of peaches, coleslaw, potato salad, hummus, a huge cake in the shape of a dog's head (£15) and two fancy toilet rolls!!

I took some lovage plants to one of the Pantry ladies for her allotment.

IN today came 9 tins of dog food, some dog biscuits and dog shampoo, sadly, from a lady who had just lost her dog. Sad Also 2.5 kgs of potatoes from a lady who'd bought too many! How can you buy too many potatoes and, if you do, not consider storing them for a week or so?

Went to church this morning but I was too late again. All that was left were a couple of loaves and bread rolls and a bag of chopped kale!
A few more pick up and drop off points afterwards and I'd picked up more shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and toothbrushes (all unused in case you're wondering!). Also IN came a rechargeable battery charger and a load of ?batteries and some books.
OUT went two bags of clothes and some makeup stuff - can you see me curling my lashes??

IN today came an almost full, 10kg, bag of puppy food. Apparently the puppy didn't like it - my "puppies" do. They know better than to be picky about food!
Not quite FREE but bought a dozen extra large eggs for 48p in Morries, use by date 12 November, the boxes were a little ripped but the eggs were unaffected. Also found an £8 chocolate cake for 80p. Good job I'm not on a diet. Big Grin
