Stew and mash. 
I am trying to relive my school dinners which I enjoyed immensely! 
I have had stewing steak, mushrooms,carrots ,swede & onion bubbling away in the slow cooker all night! Just need to peel and boil some of my Desiree potatoes from the allotment, boil and mash them with butter and Bob's your Uncle!
