My new greenhouse is finally functional! I've laid thick cardboard down, lots of compost and put four tubs of tomatoes in there. I have room for two rows down each side. I think I will put in pepper and tomatillos in front of them. Exciting!!

A nice bit of fruit picking today. The last of the raspberries because I’ve taken the nets off now the blackbirds and thrushes can have what’s left. Blueberries are the sweetest and juiciest ever. Strawberries are still producing I have cleared off a load of runners, kept some strong ones for next year. It’s amazing the difference in flavour and juice content of the strawberries for the different raised beds. Some toms and cherry toms.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

My apple trees are laden with fruit I have had to prop up some of the branches. No photos but I will get some tomorrow. These 2 trees each gave me 2 apples each last year this year there is about 20 or more on each tree. Looking forward to trying them. Really happy that the seaweed feeds are working on the apple trees, shame about the cherry trees. Birds got all bar 2 cherries on each tree.

But she booked me in for an echocardiogram which I had today and there is STILL nothing to stress about. Final test is a stress test, ecg on a static bike, in October!

My friend arrived today with all the plants I brought from my virtual garden centre shopping trip plus lots of others . She also brought me an early birthday party. A Moroccan style wash basin for my new bathroom. It’s beautiful .
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

A tomato frame full of healthy, fruiting tomatoes.
I have a little blossom end rot and a lot of the flowers failed in the last heatwave but there are plenty more coming along.
This time last year the whole lot had already been lost to blight. An upside of the hot & dry weather, so long as I can keep watering them of course.
