No idea Danny. never seen a climbing courgette, or even knew there was such an animal? I wonder if they were grown on the bottom whether they would behave similar to pumpkins?

That clothesline looks hand for it to climb along but would it be strong enough?

I'm growing courgettes upwards this year, along just a single bamboo stick at the moment, but I'll have to add more as they get longer. I don't pinch out the growing tip ever, but I've not heard it's a bad idea either..?

Mine (only one) us planted up against the fruit cage. I’ve had two courgettes from it , but haven’t noticed it trying to climb. I shall have to have another look.

Just looked!
And yes it is sprawling all along the floor.
Going to try to tie it up without snapping it off.
Glad I read this post as it has alerted me to check it out .
Thanks

No, they don't naturally climb, or at least most of them don't. I tie mine to the posts, sticks or climbing frame, but I do it for the space really - they take up so little space if they are trained upwards.

Thanks Sariss - I’ll try that!
Incidentally the slim little yellow courgettes were lovely!
