IN came 2 trays of sprouting broccoli and calabrese seedlings and some sunflowers, 2 bags of books and 5 loaves of sourdough bread, plus a malt loaf and a fruit loaf, neither of which I've tried before.
OUT went some Mint cuttings, a bag of books and some plastic bags for the bread lady..........and 3 loaves to my brother. I forgot him.

More food INs - 5 loaves of bread, 4 oranges and 2 bananas.
OUT went a book someone needed - "One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest". Wonder who gave that to me many years ago and were they trying to tell me something? Also OUT a pot of Perennial leek seedlings.

IN - a big hairy pouffe thingy that the dogs thought was an animal of some sort - hoping they'll think its a bed. Also some BBQ skewers (? plant supports) and a plastic basket with handles that Sainsbury's used to sell for in their trollies to make packing easier. I'll use it for carrying plants around the garden. All from the same lady who says "I crack her up". Not sure what to make of that.

Well, that was unexpected! Just been offered some IKEA units - a 7 drawer unit for under a desk and one of those cube units with 6 stepped compartments that you slide plastic boxes into - I'm sure you know exactly what I mean.
They were from the lady that I "crack up" (see previous post!). I've collected them, shifted furniture around in the Seed & Book Library room and they're just waiting to be filled with stuff.

More IKEA INs - A 4 drawer unit with bright red and yellow drawer fronts and a wooden coffee table with shelves beneath.
Also a 2 kg bag of Maris Piper spuds and a rather large bag of bananas - enough to keep a tribe of monkeys fed for a week. I took them to my brother but he didn't want many as he'd just bought a bunch. Then his neighbours arrived home so we call across to them "Do you want some bananas?" A perfectly ordinary question but they had to question it "What did you say? Bananas?" They did take a few but there were still lots. Luckily a woman passed by with her dog. She didn't get passed me without taking a banana or 4. I even put them in a bag for her.
I've also scrounged some cuttings from the most gorgeously scented hedge I have ever stood next too. It was a variegated Star Jasmine and its evergreen too. Hope I can get it to grow - or I'll have to go and scrounge some more.

I tried that last time I had lots of nanas. Don't think I dried them long enough as they remind me of banana wine gums - not crisps. Put me off a bit.
Anyway, there's no room as Arthur Excalibur is full of courgettes and mangetout at the moment.

Anyway, there's no room as Arthur Excalibur is full of courgettes and mangetout at the moment. Must admit. That’s what happened the one and only time I dried drying bananas. Didn’t help that Bob chopped them and they were all different thicknesses.

Only OUTs today - 4 wire hanging baskets. I don't have the patience to plant hanging baskets.

IN came 2 loaves of bread from the Sourdough bakery - one is a rye loaf which I've not tried before.
I collected it from someone I haven't been to before. He had one of these front doors with no visible means of attracting attention. No door bell and a letter box flap with no knocker. All I could do was rattle the letterbox flap. The spring on it was so strong I nearly lost my fingers!
As I inspected my fingers, the door opened - he must have been lurking behind the door.
I was so surprised I said " Hello, I'm Andy, you must be .............as I said it I knew I was confused " No, what I mean is you're Andy and I'm Carole".
He looked a bit shocked, like there was a crazy woman at his door begging for bread.
Its lovely bread, whatever.
