Lovely PP!! I was gifted a tartan this year. It's not flowered yet.
Cafe au late has had 2 blooms so far and a few more coming.
Everyone raves about these - and I really love the colour but I find the flower itself much too big to do anything with.

Another After Dusk has opened and has a single pure white petal!
And this one has no name. I wondered if it was Hulin's Carnival because last year the flowers ranged from a pale pinky cream with bright pink splashes to a bright pink with varying amounts of cream splashes. This year (so far) just pink - is it reverting to a more simple form?

I had a white petal bloom last year on my Sam Hopkins! When mine change colour - they often turn yellow.
I watched on Monty Don once and a dahlia grower said that cuttings taken from tubers will give you a more intense colour that first year than from the parent tuber itself.
I've several totally tangerine - they are all lovely but one this year has much more pink in it and looks amazing.

I know orange isn't for everyone - but I saw this last year and really wanted it. I really like the ball dahlias as they are perfect for cutting and easy to plonk in a vase. This one is a beauty!

This one is Sylvia - another ball, bright orange/red. The photo doesn't do the colour any favours but it looks stunning in the garden.

Another dahlia,
although both of these are from the same tuber, or at least I planted one tuber in a pot 2 or 3 years ago, and this year both of these have appeared. The pale one is normal, although it has been darker, the dark pink (already posted) appeared for the first time this year.

Both lovely! It's amazing what happens to some - colour change can't be really huge between cuttings from the same plant.
I love that ripple on though.
