2022 - What I sowed today

Resowed a Striata d'Italia courgette as I managed to snap the stem of my seedling when moving my tray outside to get some sun. D'oh!

Noticed that the Sunstripe courgette I originally sowed has finally decided to emerge after two weeks so I didn't need to resow after all. D'oh, again!

Sowed four pots of Thunbergia Alata mix (Black Eye Susan vine)

More nasturtiums, bronze fennel, calendula, and cabbages (accidentally sowed my last lot in modules that already had radish seeds in them - whoops!) And another attempt at some Ladybird Cosmos as they didn't sprout at all last time (unlike my three varieties of newer Cosmos seed). Also more beetroot (the two varieties I didn't sow last time), coriander, and another go at some dwarf ruby sunflowers.

Completely new sowings today were borage (a mixture of blue and white), climbing french beans (two varieties from JJB and a third one I picked up some time ago), and quaking grass.
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!

Over the last few days:

Lambs lettuce
Chervil
Summer savoury
Garlic chives
Lettuce salad bowl
Lettuce little gem
A few DFBs just as an experiment, it's still a bit early for here, especially as we've had a frost the last couple of nights.

Lots of flowers today:

Tithonia (Mexican sunflower) - sowed more
Helichrysum (Pink strawflower)
Carnation "Rainbow Loveliness"
Zinnia "Orange King"
Zinnia "Edwardian Pink"
Zinnia "Purple Prince" (grew last year too)
Cosmos "Cupcakes Blush"
Cosmos "Purity" (saved seed from last year)

I think that just leaves the marigolds for the tomatoes and some annual climbers (Canary Creeper and Morning Glory) which I'll probably sow at the weekend.

Me too, because the forking slugs have eaten about 1/3 of the seedlings.

Most packets had 8-10 seeds so I've sown the lot.  With my luck, I'll have 60 courgette plants looking for homes...........or I may have none. Big Grin
There are stirrings in the  compost............green shoots are appearing - Defender and Mikinos so far. I may have  60 plants after all. Big Grin
