What a missed opportunity! That would have been brilliant.

Morning all
Forecast is not good for today so will need to find summat to do indoors. Plenty to do though! Tbh it doesn't look too bad out there so I wonder whether forecasters have cocked up again?
Dog walkies first then we will play it by ear!

Morning all and I'm please to say that the rain has finally arrived here - though the forecast thunderstorms, hail and flooding haven't. "Still every little helps" said the old lady as she wee'd in the sea. My Mum always said that.
I'm glad we cut some grass and laid cardboard on top yesterday, ready for the veg bed makeover!

I picked up a load of removal boxes from a skip that are now in the shed! They're quite big opened out. I wanted to cover a path between beds and just laid the card out roughly in place. Now that its wet, I'll be able to position it better (I hope) and tuck it against the sides.
Its the first time I've had lots of cardboard and I'm quite excited!!

Happy Belated Friday!
Its been raining off and on today so haven't done much outside. If I'm honest, I haven't done much inside either. Been having a serious think about the small 3rd bedroom which is full of books. They're piled on top of the double bed and, if anyone needed to sleep there, it would take about a week to move the books off the bed.
I can't remember the last overnight visitor here so I've decided to get rid of the bed and turn the room into a library/study.
Yesterday I acquired a 3 shelf bookcase and spent today moving books off the bed, folding it in two and tucking it in a corner until I can arrange for it to taken away. The bookcase is now filled with books (all gardening, countryside, wildlife, foraging ones) but I still need to sort out some of the random stuff that was dumped on the bed - my beekeeping outfit and a straw skep for swarm catching, a press for extracting juice when wine making, the enormous Family Bible, a navy boiler suit from my Civil Defence days in the bunker, countless boxes and albums of photos from long forgotten holidays, piles of letters, folders and documents from family history research and, just for Vinny, a cuddly toy. That lot is still in a heap on the floor!
Maybe tomorrow I can sort some of that stuff............but not if its dry and sunny.

The Hedgehog's back, though it may be a different one as it seems a lot bigger. Don't know whether the dogs brought it back as they were fussing around it outside the patio doors. Its ambled off now and the dogs are in detention for the night!

Time for bed methinks.
I have one small bedroom that has a computer table in it with computer (which I hardly use since I got the chromebook) and all the other walls have bookcases filled with books. Why do we store books vertically then get a kink in the neck trying to read the titles? I fancy rearranging them horizontally so I can read what they are easier!
Not tonight though, goodnight all.

My books are vertical & horizontal, depending on the space available/size of book. Problem with the horizontal books is that you always want to read the book at the bottom of the pile.
..........and on that note, I'll wish you all Goodnight/Nos da.
