Common lizard. Not the best photo ( very heavily cropped), but it was lovely to see this little fella. Who was very unimpressed that he’d been spotted. So I didn’t stay long.
Lots of these around. You’re all now screaming that’s in the wrong thread that a Wild flower not a beastie. Obviously you’re right but it eats beastie. It’s a butterwort. A carnivores plant.

Guessing it's a colour thing for this one. Going back to heraldry Sable is the colour black and argent is silver, although it is ofter interchangeable with white. So my guess is the dark ages is when we got the common name.

It’s been a wildlife day.
This fella was just outside the kitchen window
I did go out to get another photo of him without a window in the way. Unfortunately my 2 little helpers saw what I was doing and decided the stag was to close and needed to leave . There was a fence between them , stag was perfectly safe.
This little toad is just one of many in my garden at the moment.
This is the reason I’m not getting any ripe strawberries at the moment!
