More dog walking photo's from yesterday. Forgot to take my phone today.
I more or less lived in this area when I was was a bairn and to be honest it hasn't changed much in 50 years. There used to be an owls nest in the big oak tree which was big when I was small so I reckon it must be 100 years old at least.. Fond memories of a rope swing from its branches.
John Wesley did his open air preaching in this area and I can imagine him preaching beneath this tree.

I passed a white van on the road with a lot of Police activity around it. I gave it a wide berth and carried on with my walk. Later while I was in the woods I heard thrashing of branches but assumed it was kids. Later I bumped into a Police dog handler with her German Shepherd. She asked me If I had seen anyone and the description she gave was of me! (eek) I said "You are looking at him" to which she replied "I don't think he had a dog with him" I asked her if it was to do with the white van I had seen earlier and she said it was, without giving any further details.
Strange the people you meet in the woods!

The police are a strange breed, if out of uniform and asking random questions you’d call them weird. Ever since I was a little kid I’ve endeavoured to keep a healthy distance, they hang out with some right wrong uns.
A pocket knife is not a weapon in the right hands it’s an essential garden tool.
The little planting of flowers were by themselves in the middle of a wood as the other photo shows. I reckon someone has buried a dog there? Hopefully it WAS only a dog or cat.
I notice Kato managed to get his backside in view on one of the piccies!

A few wild flowers which I thought looked interesting while dog walking. I think the water ones are Irises and Echinops or some member of the thistle family? but I haven't got a clue what tuthers are?
