Wasn't expecting anything great for that money but needed some bulk compost to fill some spud buckets.
Its better than I expected. I sieved it to take out some woody bits, maybe a few little stones in there too. About 10% twigs? No plastic.
I'll sow some seeds in the sieved stuff and the twiggy bits can go in the bottom of the potato pots for drainage.
The small bags are easier to handle too.
Will buy more.
I'm using Home Bargains Growmoor 50L £2.29 mixed with Lidl stuff. Not peat free though. The Growmoor is very fibrous and holds a lot of water and doesn't drain too well, whereas the Lidl is more bitty and drains better, the mix of the two seems ok for what I want.

Morrisons are giving away free dwarf sunflower seeds at their tills. Just small packets, but mine has 13 sunflower seeds in it - more than enough for my non-existent outdoor growing space! (Think I'd going to start them indoors then plant them out somewhere on the hospital site when they are big enough - I suspect if established plants suddenly appear in a border somewhere, nobody will actually question it. Stealth sunflowers!)
