First proper sowings of the year (I'm not counting the indoor herbs!)

Tomatoes:
  • 2 tumbling: Cherry Cascade and Peardrops F1
  • 2 cherry: Sungold F1 and Black Cherry
  • 1 baby plum: Santonio F1
  • 1 outdoor bush: Outdoor Girl
  • 3 other cordon: San Marzano, Costoluto di Parma, Principe Borghese
The rest:
  • 3 varieties of chillies (Ancho Poblano, Hungarian Black and Trinidad Perfume)
  • 2 varieties of pepper (Lipstick, Sweet Chocolate)
  • Aubergine "Black Beauty"
  • Crimson-flowered broad beans
  • 2 varieties of old-fashioned sweet peas (Painted Lady, Cupari)
Tomatoes, chillies, peppers and aubergines are in the heated propagator; beans and sweet peas in a couple of rootrainer trays. Just need to set the timer for the propagator lights and I'm in business!
How much veg and wildlife can I pack into a 6m x 8m garden in suburban Cambridge? Let’s find out!  Smile

Peas - douce de Provence.
Leeks - Musselburgh and bleu de solaise
Sweet peas - home saved from 2018 found lurking so unlikely to be any good!

I just use a deep pot filled with damp mpc (not seed compost) sprinkle the seeds on top and lightly cover
I am only the Boss because Veggie lets me be!

The same as the boss, although mine are outside and inside a loose bag.
They'll stay in the pot until planting out in June whatever size they've reached; even when no bigger than a darning needle they'll produce wrist-sized leeks by winter.

Today I plan to sow:-

Igloo Cauliflower

Kale-Borecole  Siberian

Calabrese Parthenon F1

Larkspur Giant Imperial Mix

All will be sown in modules, maybe kept indoors until they germinate then put on staging in cold greenhouse. Smile
