Watered and mulched down at the allotment. Watered the GH plants and had a go at popping some potted bits around the back border, which is in sad shape. Fed the sourdough started in advance of making bread tonight. Oh yeah, some work too

Today.......
- I took 10 Rosemary cuttings, popped 5 in water and 5 in a mixture of MPC, Sand, and Vermiculite, will see what happens?
- Potted On 6 shop bought Lavenders
I’m hoping to plant the above where you enter the plot to disguise the sloping fence?
- Sowed Leeks and Carrots, appreciate it may be a little late for Leeks, Carrots never done before so testing all round!
- Lined the bean trench with grass clippings and paper/cardboard shredding’s - Question, when planting the beans is it harmful if they come in contact with the grass clippings? The reason I ask is the grass was very hot however I assume it will cool down a lot over the next few days.
- Weekly shop, in & out of Sainsbury’s in 30 mins, and this time the car didn’t break down!
- Bathed Stella and cleaned her artificial grass mat in the yard!
Regards..........Danny

Half day today as meeting friends in the afternoon, so planted some more courgettes, butternut and ichi kuri squashes. Delivered some tomato and marigold plants to pals, dinner then watering.

Someone had brought in mint cuttings to work and put them in the kitchen in a glass of water. I don't know if they were intended forusing in drinks, but they look very healthy cuttings to me, so I took a few and now they're in a glass of water on my kitchen window sill

Not done much today…….
Measured some pallet wood to make my asparagus bed for next year.
Researched leek growing for next year, not grown them before, well tried but failed☹
- This also got me planning for next year, how early!!!!
Tried to change a ceiling rose, ended up putting the old one back before I fell off the ladder☹
Mrs B got a call from docs this morning regards her aching arm/shoulder, cortisone injection at 3.30pm so will hopefully be on the mend?

Got excited about the rain, then got disappointed at the rain. Visited elderly neighbour to get his weekly shopping list and have a chat with him.
He's feeling lonely as his wife is in hospital. Dug out spinach beet to make room for CFB, planted a few CFB. Planted some lettuce intercropping amongst the sweetcorn.

Fed & watered toms, chillies, aubergines, peppers, cucs, pumpkins.
Planted out more cucumbers & gherkins, the only surviving trombo and a melon.
Hid indoors from the rain (a very welcome 8mm & no hail) and then afterwards mulched new rose bed, chillies, aubergines, peppers, new plantings & some trees.
Started weeding the bank bed that hasn't been touched this year but luckily has enough perennials to out compete many of the weeds.
Cleared most of the broad beans.

Nothing outdoors apart from lining up empty trugs and buckets to collect rain water.
