I bought 2 shrubs in Lidl today they are supposed to be attractive to small birds especially blue tits. They produce lovely red and orange berries for the birds. I have put them in pots until I get planters for them.

I’ll put the names up tomorrow

Pyracantha, cotoneaster or berberis?

Sowed some self saved clary.
Probably too soon, but as it’s my own seed I can afford to be reckless.
(I’ve got a bit more if this fails).

I always sow in January- get some decent plants by March and I can then move them out. Autumn sown ones are already planted in the garden.

Pyracantha, cotoneaster or berberis?
Pyracantha in particular and berberis have lethal thorns. We used to plant berberis either side of a path to keep people on the path!  Big Grin I remember berberis otowensis purpurea was my favourite. Cool

Also had to sow a few more chillies.
My lovely neighbour who regularly brings us half a dozen eggs (and refuses any payment) said he would love some chilli plants later on.
Hoping to give him a really good assortment to show my gratitude, so sowed 2 or 3 each of a good few varieties. (Most of which have come from this years and last years seed circles.)
