I like them too, but yes they don't always have the newer or more exclusive varieties. Other eBay shops like Nutsncones and JustSeed were better for that before coronavirus as they sold Kings Seeds varieties in plain packaging.

I sometimes buy from Andy at Heirloom & Perennial https://www.openpollinated.co.uk/collections/vegetables
His seeds are reasonably priced, free P&P and he sells some of the more unusual things that mainstream companies would turn their noses up at.

I am not picky where I buy seeds from. There are the odd ones that I can only get from one or two companies (such as gypsy peppers) otherwise I'll investigate the local allotment shop (shut this year) and get them in little brown envelopes. The first time I wanted pimiento de Pàdron seeds I bought them off a guy on Ebay for 99p and was really happy. Since then I have bought them from him again a few times and been very happy but twice I have bought them from seed companies ( sale of course) and have not been impressed. I would never buy small plants from one of the big companies because of their atrocious customer service in the past. Another large company has been good in the past.

I avoid the big companies because I don’t want to line there pockets for them .
I use small companies, I’m another fan of premier seeds. I’ll also use specialist suppliers for some of my chilli seeds.
Veggie I’ve just bookmark your link. For studying later. I don’t think I’ve come across them before!! It’s very exciting.
None of this answers the original question. Sorry Spec .
In my honest opinion no more expensive doesn’t mean better. When it comes to seeds.

Thanks for the replies, as said in a previous thread this thread was more for new growers, but please keep adding if required due to good/bad service, low or high price, or if seeds have good or bad percentage of germination

I try not to use T+M and Van Meuwen but every so often I will forget how carp they are and buy sale seed
I avoid plant world seeds as it was queried some years ago about the ethical sourcing of their seeds.
Nickys nursery I will not touch combination of seed not correct, pants germination and lack of customer service

Premier seeds I love for my cheap and cheerful mainstream/ bulk stuff - I did have a significate germination issue with several packets but they done their own tests and followed through on it so can not fault them but I have heard quite a few people say the customer service is lacking.
Seedaholic is another well used one for me - reasonably priced, good range etc.
Chilterns a little pricey but I tend to have a sneeky bargain pack appear in my basket as an annual treat.
Plants of distiction I also like but is more on the treat side.

Then ones I recommend but I don't tend to use so much as my collection has swelled beyond most needs higgledy garden, real seeds, victorianna nurseries, beans and herbs, thomas etty and brown envelope seeds. Yes other seed companies do exist.  Wink
1 seed, 2 seed, 3 seed, 4....
5 seed, 6 seed, 7 seed, more!

Forget to mention Franchi/Seeds of Italy. I buy from them too as I like the generous packets, customer service and their ethics. Maybe be a bit more expensive than some but compared to somewhere like *&* who'll sell you 6 seeds in a packet to make it sound desirable!
My next years veg seeds are mostly Franchi and Real Seeds with some magazine cover basics and saved tomato seeds.
