It’s pancake day .
I’m going very traditional with sugar and lemon. Bob will have added rabbit sh** (raisins ) on his.
What you having on yours ?

I'm like you, very traditional, pancakes on pancake day aren't proper unless they're covered in sugar and lemon.
American thick pancakes I usually cover in maple syrup. We don't have those often. P has his eternal custard with his, yuk.
We have been known to have crepes suzette - pancakes with a boozy, buttery, orange sauce, which I highly recommend.

No, Bob, no! Adding raisins where other things would be better is a running theme in our house. I'm not the pro-raisin contingent, as you might guess.
We'll have lemon and sugar, cream and fruit, sweet spreads and cream...a mix of traditional and made-up combinations. We have American pancakes (I am that contingent) pretty frequently, so thin pancakes as they're known in our house are a special treat.

I probably won't have pancakes but if I did it would be the traditional sugar and lemon added. My missus used to like tomato sauce on hers!

I love pancakes, and if I could only pick one way to have them, it would certainly be with whipped cream and fresh strawberries

When I fancy pancakes but can't be bothered to stand and fry them all, I do a Swedish oven pancake, which is normal pancake batter poured over pancetta pieces that have been well fried off, and then bunged in the oven. Served with lingonberry jam. Yum. Or mums, as we say here.
