RE: Leek Advice - Broadway - 22-11-2020 Thanks Vinny Your pun is pardoned Do you have any advice on storing the tubers, can I or should I plant them now? Many thanks...... RE: Leek Advice - Veggie - 22-11-2020 [attachment=1633] These are my leeks - all shapes and sizes. The ones in the black pot at the back should have been planted out - but weren't so they can stay there now. I'd call those pencil thickness. RE: Leek Advice - Broadway - 22-11-2020 Right, I've got two more questions and that's it, promise. Could the thickness, or lack of it, be down to me not making a big enough hole with the dibber? Can I lift these and plant them somewhere else? Many thanks..... RE: Leek Advice - Veggie - 22-11-2020 When did you plant them? Still haven't seen a photo of yours! Me???? Surely not. ;P Your leeks look fine - very healthy. You just need to add a little more patience. Have you considered growing the JAs in containers? If you decide you don't like them, they'll be easier to dispose of. When I grew them, I couldn't get rid of them as they'd spread everywhere and they kept coming back for years (and I don't mean as wind). RE: Leek Advice - Broadway - 22-11-2020 Patience, I'm a man! Ok I'll let them alone. Regards the JA's, not considered containers but given the leeks deserve a stay of execution I'll bung them down the bottom for this year. Can I plant them now? I suppose I could always dig a few and cook them as baby leeks, be nice with chicken and a white wine sauce.
