  Leek Advice

Afternoon Folks

First time growing leeks and they are probably a 1/4 of the circumference they should be.

I'm assuming I can leave them in for as long as it takes them to mature, even if it takes 6 months next year?

  Being organised
Posted by: Spec - 14-11-2020, 02:02 AM - Replies (21)

Looking through the threads I see that some folk have their seeds all organised, so was wondering how much time is taken up doing this as opposed to just putting them in a box then rummaging through all your seeds to get what you want and of course (we'll in my case) when you are doing that there is always other seeds that you come out with that you can sow, is there any spontaneous removal of other seeds when everything is organised?

  Tomato supports
Posted by: Can the Man - 13-11-2020, 10:21 PM - Replies (10)

My wife was watching a program on tv about Brits living in France restoring or renovating chateaus. One of the gardens was planting tomatoes and had these very clever supports. Anybody ever use these ?

Thought they were a great idea

  Pink rowan

I’ve just been handed a bag of pink rowan berries. How would you go about germinating them?

Plant them as they are?
Clean seeds then plant?
Heat or no heat ?
When ?
Something I’ve not thought of?

I was going to try as they are some outside, some in tunnel, some in propagator (as it’s running & has a bit of space).

Morning Folks

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a list of all attachments associated with a thread?

For example the screenshot below shows the "tell us what you did today" thread, if you hover over the attachment symbol(paperclip) it states there are 54, can I get a list of these somehow?

  Succession sowing/planting?
Posted by: Broadway - 12-11-2020, 07:06 AM - Replies (27)

Morning Folks

I’m just curious what people do regards succession sowing/planting, if you do anything that is?

For clarity  I’m not talking about one crop following another I’m talking about the same crop.

Do you sow the same variety at different intervals or different varieties with differing maturity dates?

Growing garlic for the first time
Posted by: Can the Man - 12-11-2020, 01:30 AM - Replies (20)

I bought some pink garlic and some white garlic, Don’t really know the difference between them, so I bought 1 packet of each.
I have sowed 2 bulbs of each, each bulb gave me about 11 or 12 cloves. I sowed the pink ones about 2 or 3 weeks ago and the white ones about 11/2 weeks ago.

They seem to be doing good so far, as I’ve never grown them before I have no base line.
This is what they are looking like.

Pink
