I sowed Scarlett's beans today as well as putting some sweetcorn - Picasso - to chit in the airing cupboard. This is my second sowing of sweetcorn, the first was Swift a few weeks ago, I intend that they stagger in their flowering and will be planted in different areas.
Peas, beetroot and DFB.
I particularly liked a pale green courgette called Wanda I bought as cheap seeds from T&M some time ago, which this year (and last) failed to germinate. T&M don't stock them any more and I couldn't find any to buy elsewhere. Last year, before Brexit, Sarriss found some for me in eastern Europe but for some reason I didn't follow through with buying them. I searched again and saw some on Ebay, Latvian, but despatched from UK, so I ordered them not expecting much. They arrived quickly with a sow by 2025. So that's what I sowed yesterday. Now to await whether they're as nice as I remember or will Bianca Trieste be exactly the same.
Flushed with success over the sowing of 3 old packets of Courgettes, I'm doing the same with old Squash/Pumpkin seeds - 13 varieties to be exact and about 100 seeds to be inexact!
Muscat de Provence
Black Futsu
Queensland Blue
Greek (HSL)
Rugosa Friulana
Caribbean (HSL)
Georgia Candy Roaster

Marina di Chioggia
Autumn Crown
Tonda Padana

Since I won't be saving seed from any that grow it doesn't matter if my seed labels are a bit thin on the ground.
May you live in 'squashy' times. If all your courgette seeds and all your squash/pumpkins thrive, we'll have to come and hack our way through the impenetrable undergrowth to rescue you like sleeping beauty - I draw the line at kissing you awake though Big Grin
Isn't nature miraculous, the sweetcorn I sowed on 9th, some had popped on the 10th, and even more today the 11th. Smile

Trying some winter cauli - Cendis. Might just be slug feed but I've got the seeds and space in the sprout and psb bed so worth a shot.
